Like its previous entries, Monster Hunter Rise charms are an important aspect of set building. Charms, or talismans, are an extra piece of equipment that does not provide any armour or defensive bonuses on their own. Rather, they provide skills, which is incredibly helpful in creating a fully optimized set. Here is how to obtain charms.
Charms can only be gotten by crafting using the melding pot, which is accessed through Kagero the Merchant or the Guild Store. When you first unlock the melding pot, you will only have access to the Reflecting Pool option.

However, as you progress through the game and increase your HR (Hunter Rank), you will unlock Haze, Moonbow, Wisp of Mystery, and Rebirth. You will also unlock more crafting slots, so you can craft multiple at a time.
In order to use the melding pot, you simply select the skill you wish to aim for. The different types of melding have different skills available and also different chances of obtaining the skills. This means that only some skills are available through melding initially and more will be unlocked as you progress through the game.

Once you select the skill you want, you will need to offer materials that will be used to meld. Each material provides different amount of points that contributes to the melding. You can use practically any monster parts or crafting materials, so this is a way to get rid of excess or unwanted materials.

After finishing your selection, the melding pot will take some time (one quest) before it actually produces a charm. When you complete a quest, return to the melding pot to obtain your charm. If you have multiple charms crafting the melding pot, only one of them will be finished at a time.
The 7★ Rampage and Narwa Quests give materials that have high value points for melding, so it is recommended to grind those quests if you are farming to endgame charms in Monster Hunter Rise.
