Marvel’s Contest of Champions John Mulaney Champion Challenge began on December 2 and will last all the way until December 30 at 10AM PST (1PM EST/6PM GMT). So how exactly do you go about participating in the Contest of Champions John Mulaney Champion Challenge?
Overview
The Contest of Champions John Mulaney Champion Challenge is broken up into 2 chapters. The first of which will have 4 quests, each containing 6 paths of 5 fights each connected by portals, this will allow you to portal to the boss at the end of any path. In the second chapter, however, there is only 1 quest, but it is a very intense gauntlet battle in which you will fight 31 individual battles. Yikes! You’ve gotta be a real Champion to take on this kind of fight!

Starting in Chapter 1, Quest 3 Marvel will also be adding some new Global Buffs:
- A Good Defense: The Attacker’s Well-Timed Blocks place a random Debuff from Weakness, Armor Break, Suppression, or Disorient on the Defender for 13 seconds. Each time the Attacker Dodges an Attack, place a random Buff on the Attacker from Fury, Armor Up, Power Gain, or Precision on the Attacker for 13 seconds.
- Equally Balanced: When either Champion triggers a Special Attack, remove all Buffs and Debuffs from that Champion. For each Debuff or Buff removed, they gain:
- Buff/Debuff: Gain Fury, Increasing Attack Rating by 25% for 8 seconds
- Buffs/Debuffs: The Special Attack is Unblockable
- Buffs/Debuffs: Gain an Unstoppable Buff for 8 seconds
John Mulaney’s Champion Team
John Mulaney’s team consists of:
- Howard the Duck
- Gwenpool
- Warlock
- Deadpool
- Mysterio
The final boss for each of these Quests will be John Mulaney’s own…Spider-Ham!

Completing Chapter 1 will earn you:
- 1x T4CC Crystal
- 1x T4 Basic Catalyst
- 1x T1A Catalyst
- 20x 5-Star Signature Stone Crystals
Exploration of Chapter 1 will earn you:
- 1x 5-Star Hero Crystal
- 20x 5-Star Signature Stone Crystals
- 1x T2A Catalyst
Act Completion (Both Chapters 1 and 2) will earn you:
- 1x T5B Catalyst
- 1x T2A Catalysts
- 1,000,000x Gold
Act Exploration (Both Chapters 1 and 2) will earn you:
- 1x 5-Star Nexus Crystal
- 1x 6-Star Crystal
- 2x T2A Catalysts
