As with most games, collecting coins or an in-game currency is what is used to progress, so knowing how to get coins in Jetpack Joyride is vital for beating a previous high score and upgrading skills.
What Are Coins Used For?
In Jetpack Joyride you use coins to buy upgrades for your vehicles, gadgets, and power-ups.
Some gadgets help with movement such as the Air Barrys which increases the jump of the character when they are on the floor, giving an extra boost to their height and helping with dodging obstacles. There are also gadgets like the Missile Jammer and the Dezapinator that work to impede the obstacles directly, and then gadgets like Token Gift, that give extra bonuses once the run ends.
The main upgrade worth spending coins on when it comes to vehicle upgrades is the magnet version of each vehicle which makes it easier to collect coins as you play sucking it in. All the other upgrades like the gold versions of each vehicle are aesthetic and in almost every case offer no difference in abilities.
Power-ups are useful to purchase and upgrade to give an extra helping hand throughout the game and are definitely worth putting coins into to make it easier for those later runs when obstacles come racing towards the player faster than they can react.

Getting Coins By Playing and Completing Missions
The most obvious way that you will be collecting coins is through playing the game normally and making sure that you are collecting as many of the coin patterns that present themselves as you can. Whilst this gives a nice helping of coins it can start getting tedious when there are some especially expensive upgrades, so making sure to complete as many missions as possible will give a great boost to the number of coins that can be earnt.
Missions will have a different star rating depending on how challenging they are and once the player has collected enough starts they will level up, with each level increase gaining an additional 200 coins every time. So the first level-up grant 200 coins, then the second gives 400 coins, and so on, all the way up to level 15 where the player will receive 3000 coins, and then the reward gained will reset back to 200.
Completing missions is one of the main factors that make the game so enjoyable to replay as each run becomes slightly different depending on if a challenge requires them to run a certain amount on the ground or do not collect any coins.
Winning Coins
Another way to get more coins in Jetpack Joyride is through the final spin, which is the slot machine that can give a whole range of rewards from an extra life to the jackpot of 1000 coins. There are also prizes of 100 coins and 500 coins. To spin on the final spin the player simply needs to collect as many spin tokens throughout the run as possible, and then use each spin token to spin the machine in the hopes of getting a prize.
Alternatively, for those who don’t want to gamble away their spin tokens, there is also the option to sell them for 100 coins each, which doesn’t seem like a lot but can quickly add up if you are collecting 3-6 spin tokens every run.

Other Ways to Get Coins
Of course, as with most mobile games, there is the option to simply buy coins with real money. This is the quickest way to get heaps of coins, which can then be used for some of the most expensive upgrades and designed for vehicles.
There are also a few gadgets that can aid the player in getting more coins. Coin Magnet gives the same effect as the magnet variants to vehicles where it sucks money towards the player making it so that they can always collect the maximum amount of coins for every run. Gemology replaces some of the coins with bright red gems which are each worth 5 coins.
Finally, there are events such as Bling It On! Which spawns in diamonds worth 3 coins and large diamonds worth 10, as well as gems and other items that give the player many more coins than if they were to play in the normal mode.
Overall there are plenty of ways to get coins in Jetpack Joyride, making it feel like next to no time before the player is taking a morning swim in all their gold!
