Does Pokemon Go consume all your time? Here are some companion apps that you should look into to enhance your experiences. Apps on this list are all currently working in 2021.
Poke Genie
Available on Android, iOS

This app uses an easy to turn on and off overlay that’s used in Pokemon Go to calculate Pokemon IV stats. Great for quickly accessing the IVs when sorting out Pokemon caught in bulks during Community Day events or on Incense activation. Note that the overlay stays on until you manually turn it off in the PokeGenie app.

Other additional features include: Pokedex, Battle Simulator (to help make teams), Collection Management, Name Generator and Power-up and Evolution Simulator.
Recommended for players who wants help on management, and an easy to integrate IV calculator while Pokemon Go is running.
PokeRaid
Available on Android, iOS

Remote raids has been one of the best additions to the game since the pandemic has started. Most raids are not designed to do solo: PokeRaids is an app that helps you connect with anyone around the world by joining or hosting raid rooms.
Getting started is simple. Download the app and follow the account authentication process to get full access. You can choose to find raids within your region, or around the world. If on the hunt for a specific raid, you can enter the Pokemon’s name as a filter option.

Hosts will still need to put in the work. Participants connected to the room will still need to be manually added in Pokemon Go to join the raid group. Luckily for players, remote raid passes don’t get consumed until the raid actually starts – meaning that joining rooms should be low risk.
PokeRaids wants to ensure the highest quality experience with hosting. Participants will have the opportunity to rate the experience and host. Ratings are always displayed on the hosted rooms.
An extra feature to note is the Pokeraid coin system. Collecting coins are used an incentive for participation and logging in. Coins can be used for the auto-join feature to join a queue for specified raids.
Recommended for players who need help with raids and can’t always rely on your friend’s list/local groups.
Pokemon Home
Available on Android, iOS

Ever Transfer a pokemon in Pokemon Go that you secretly wish to keep but can’t due to storage limitations? Transferring Pokemon to Pokemon Home will still be a farewell in Pokemon Go but at least you can still see your little critter somewhere else and carry it over to other Pokemon Titles.
To get started, you will need to download the Pokemon Home app, sign up from there and link your account in Pokemon Go.
You will still receive candy transfer rewards, and can receive a Mystery Gift box for Pokemon Go.

Other things include checking news, national pokedex, customizable room, and Pokemon trading. Just note that there are differences in available features between the Nintendo Switch Pokemon Home, and the mobile app.
Recommended for players who want to keep their Pokemon experience connected and personalized to their liking.
GO Field Guide
Available on Android, iOS

If you are looking for a quick handbook that gets updated daily on the latest events, an on hand pokedex along with help with egg spawns, pvp, gyms, raids – this app should have everything that you need.

This app is your best cheat sheet and checklist that can be carried brought anywhere and used anytime.
Recommended for players who like all the information packaged together especially when playing Pokemon Go outside of your own home. Why not just quickly access an app instead of searching everything from your web browser?
Discord
Available on Android, iOS

Discord was chosen due to how easy and flexible to find communities locally, or globally to connect with other players. Who doesn’t want to show off their perfect IV pokemon, or brag how many legendary shiny Pokemon are in their collection?
Discord brings in personalized experiences ranging from 50-10,000 people in a server. Finding the right server might take searching on other social media: twitter, facebook groups or public discord server list. Once you find the right fit you can easily connect for community meetups with well practiced social distance, coordinate trades, exchange friend codes and even find raid groups.

General features include text chatting, voice chatting, uploading pictures and more!
Recommended for players who socially thrive connecting their gaming experiences with other people. This was how many players formed raid groups, and shared information before other apps were created.
Honourable mention goes to the Silph Road app for being the largest Pokemon Go network available to connect with.
